The Hockey Theme in a pop culture twist

The Hockey Theme is the signature theme tune for Hockey Night in Canada, but also Canada's second national anthem, which the CBC used from a season ending with the 1969 Finals to 2008.

Dolores Claman composed The Hockey Theme, which serves as the iconic and famous clarion call for Hockey Night in Canada, with Jerry Toth doing the arrangement/orchestration.

Marcel Aymar, John Doerr and Marc Cholette serve as the namesakes of their own music production company called Majoma Music.

In addition to Majoma Music, both Marcel Aymar and John Doerr are involved with progressive rock groups CANO and Masque.

Bryan Adams does backup vocals for CANO, whose members are John Doerr and Marcel Aymar.

Jim Vallance produces an album for CANO, with John Doerr and Marcel Aymar as members.

Plus, Bryan Adams has his 1998 duet called When You're Gone, with Melanie C/Mel C (of the Spice Girls) being featured in its original version.

The 2005 version of When You're Gone (1998) features Bryan Adams' friend Pamela Anderson.

Initially, Sheryl Crow was planned to be featured in When You're Gone by Bryan Adams.

The CBC also commissioned a special theme theme for its Olympic coverage by Majoma Music.

Starting with the Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, this theme tune, which Majoma had composed for the CBC's Olympic coverage, blends brass and percussion.

Ever since the Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, this theme tune, which Majoma Music had composed for the CBC's Olympic coverage, has also had unique arangements.

Due to CBC Television's successful coverage of the Seoul Summer Olympic Games, Majoma was also tasked with doing the rock/big band rearrangement for Hockey Night in Canada.

The season ending in 1989 was the first to use Majoma's rearrangement for Hockey Night in Canada.

October 1998 is when Hockey Night in Canada introduced a new (and iconic) symbol, co-designed by Susan McIntee and Nick Monteleone for Soho Post & Graphics and the CBC.

Besides, Soho Post & Graphics did other graphics for CBC Sports during the 1997 rebrand.

Soho Post & Graphics features Rob Wells, who is also a Canadian songwriter for musicians.

International singers working with/for Rob Wells (Canadian songwriter) are Miranda Cosgrove, Selena Gomez, Katharine McPhee, Paloma Faith, Vanessa Amorosi, Ginny Blackmore and Belinda.

Domestic Canadian musicians working with/for Rob Wells include Marie-Mai, Alexz Johnson, Melissa O'Neil, Shiloh and Victoria Duffield

Plus, Dolores Claman's The Hockey Theme was rearanged in a synth form for the 1998 season.

For the 2001-2002 NHL season, Dolores Claman's iconic and famous The Hockey Theme for Hockey Night in Canada was done in a synth-rock rearrangement with live brass by Daniel LeBlanc.

Live brass are used for this 2001 rearrangement of The Hockey Theme to convey tradition.

Majoma's rock/big band rearrangement for Hockey Night in Canada made its return for the last NHL playoffs and the last Stanley Cup championship series before the lockout took place.

This NHL lockout caused the cancellation of the regular season, many matches of which covered the winter/spring season of 2005, plus the 2005 playoffs and the 2005 Finals.

The 1997-1998 season is the last that Majoma's rearrangement for Hockey Night in Canada was used before its temporary return for the last pre-2005 lockout playoffs.

Besides television, Daniel LeBlanc usually collaborates with jazz singer Emilie-Claire Barlow, along with Creighton Doane.

Mirroring its status alongside Dolores Claman's legendary The Hockey Theme (specially composed for Hockey Night in Canada), the CBC's Olympic theme has been continually refreshed.

Incidentally, both Pamela Anderson and David Foster are iconic and world=famous pop culture figures being born on Vancouver Island.

The Carpet Frogs perform The Chance May Never Come Again, an emotional tune being used for the Stanley Cup playoffs on Hockey Night in Canada, a power ballad made à la Bryan Adams.

Besides, The Place Will Be Rocking 'Cause It's Saturday Night is also performed by The Carpet Frogs during the intro for the pre-game lead-in to Hockey Night in Canada.

For The Hockey Theme by Dolores Claman, it uses a Wagnerian sound, but is also similar to the 20th Century-Fox fanfare by Alfred Newman, as are others within stock music.
